The Warrior Goddess of Humanity
“It is heartbreaking that in 2022 war is still happening. The Warrior Goddess of Humanity plants seeds for peace while mourning the lives already taken by war. Grandmother’s wisdom shows another way toward a kinder world for all. We need no armies, except the army of the kind. Stop war.”
Sunflower seeds plant the seeds for peace that may end wars in future generations, and third eye crystals activate peaceful energy. One layer of black roses represent the destruction of war, and the yellow flowers the ascension to a world without war. The veil mourns for countries that have experienced bombing since 2000; blue and yellow feathers for the active war that initiated this project in February. The grandmother’s wisdom and strength show us the way to peace.
Sunflower seeds and crystals were glued one by one. Upcycled objects like macrame cord, curtain tassels, jewellery, and fabrics were gathered, while Mercedes Joy Knapp dye-painted the upcycled silk fan. The base of the headpiece and the armour hand cut and assembled with Eva foam and Contact Cement glue. Flowers were hand painted.
